Parents’ Night Out was so fun! Thank you to our little friends who joined us for pizza, games, coloring, cookie decorating, and “The Polar Express” movie time last night! Thank you also to our wonderful helpers who made sure everyone was having fun! We hope all those parents got a relaxing couple hours back to themselves while we danced and played the night away. Teacher Feature: Miss Nina! Miss Nina has been an invaluable member of the Momentum staff since the beginning! She teaches contemporary and stretch & conditioning for weekly studio classes, and she is the Co-Director of Momentum Dance Company. Over the years, Miss Nina has won many accolades for her choreography and continues to stretch her ingenuity to new bounds with her movement. Her favorite part of teaching is the ability to train her dancers how to move with unending grace and athleticism. If you or your dancer has ever taken a class taught by Miss Nina, what's the most memorable dance of hers? 💙

On November 11th from 5:30-8:30 pm, we'll be playing games, making crafts, eating pizza and snacks, and screening "The Polar Express" movie for kids ages 2-10 years old. The registration of $25 per child covers pizza and snacks, craft supplies, and three hours of fun at the dance studio. Flashback Friday to our very first "Polar Express" show last year! This year's show is already well on its way. Auditions and casting are complete, rehearsals have begun, costumes are being fitted. #TechniqueTuesday: What's the difference between retiré and passé? Retiré means "withdrawn", and it is a position standing on a single leg. Passé means "to pass", and is an action. They're easy to confuse sometimes- looking similar in shape with the pointed toe and bent knee, either holding the position or passing through. Now you know! 🩰

Class Feature: Progressing Ballet Technique with Miss Elizabeth! Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students' technique by focussing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance. Teacher Feature: Miss Marianne! Miss Marianne has been teaching for 36 years! (Shhh, she's been teaching since she was a small child obviously 😉) Miss Marianne is our guru of all things "little ones" with her degree in child psychology/development and her incredible experience within the classroom developing her curriculum for dancers ages 18 months through 6 years old. Miss Marianne teaches Tiny Tots, Twinkletoes, Storybook, Kinderdance, and Ballet Jazz. Catch her in the studio on Wednesday mornings, Friday evenings, and Saturday mornings! Ms. Shay is here to show you something we’ve been working on for Adaptive Tap and Rhythm! We have been working to make sure that everyone who participates in our adaptive classes could join in on the fun of tap as well! We are working on making tap gloves for our wheelchair users and those who use mobility aids! Enrollment for our summer session is still open, we would love to have you! Intensive 1 is almost finished! Today is our last day, and we’ve had such a blast! Our dancers tried dance styles this week including jazz, contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre, acrobatics, tap, and ballet! Looking forward to our next recreational session throughout the month of July- classes are filling FAST so make sure to snag a spot before they’re all gone!

We're an Acrobatic Arts Certified studio, and we're thrilled to offer multiple levels of instruction for Acro. Build up strength and confidence in the safety of our classrooms to achieve these incredible skills and more. 🤸

Do you have a pre-teen or teenager who's interested in trying dance for the first time, or for the first time in a long time? We've got SO MANY options for them this summer! Our Teen Dance program is catered toward beginners ages 11 and up, and is a great way to get active this summer in a no-judgement, no-pressure environment. We're your source for dance for all ages and abilities!

This coming week begins our first intensive of the summer! An intensive is a 3 to 4 day workshop exploring multiple styles of dance with our faculty, running very similar to a convention. These classes are fast-paced and designed for immersive learning and deep technical development. Dancers do not need to be in our Company to attend these intensives, and all classes can be attended as one time drop-ins for a class price. Intensive 1 is geared toward ages 6-10.

We've expanded our Adaptive Dance program! Check out our schedule for tap & rhythm, lyrical, hip hop, and jazz options this summer. If you know anyone who'd be a good fit for our Adaptive Program, send them our way so we can share the love of dance far and wide! 💃🏻👩🏻‍🦽
